Experienced Mechanic

  • Marine Mechanic Experience: 1 year (Required)

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Full Job Description

Seeking experienced Outboard Mechanic to repair boats and outboard motors. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of boats, engines, electrical and mechanical systems. An excellent mechanic must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve in a timely manner

  • Test, diagnose and repair boat engines

  • Perform maintenance service

  • Repowers

  • Communicate with Service writer status of repair

  • Complete part request forms and give to Parts Manager

  • Maintain clean work environment

  • Continue your education by earning certifications

  • Keep logs of work and report on issues

Skills

  • Proven experience as Mechanic (certifications important)

  • Excellent knowledge of boat motors including electrical systems

  • Aptitude in using tools related to boat and motor repair

  • Ability to follow procedures and company practices

  • Understand and execute written instructions and repair/warranty bulletins

  • A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines

  • Very good communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving ability

  • Very good physical strength and strong stamina

  • High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus

Working Environment

  • Kneeling, bending, climbing, twisting and lifting heavy objects may be required

  • Boats/motors are repaired outside

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: BOE

  • 8 hour shift

Education:

Experience:

  • Hands-on Marine Mechanic experience: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Yamaha Certified (Preferred)

  • Suzuki Certified (Preferred)

Boat Detailer

Our ideal boat detailer is detail oriented and self-motivated

  • Wash Boats of all sizes

  • Clean work area

  • Buffing/Compounding

  • Wash Downs * Waxing * Restoration

Responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning the interior and exterior of boats and trailers

  • Complete finish/detail on all boats, including cleaning windows, upholstery, canvas, isinglass, bilges, & fiberglass

  • Use high speed buffers and polishers to properly detail the interior & exterior surfaces to remove oxidation and bring the shine back

  • Properly use products for safe detailing of vessels including but not limited to cleaners for various surfaces, degreasers, deck cleaners, metal polishes, waxes, etc.

 

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (preferred by not required)

Experience:

  • Hands-on experience (car detailing experience very valuable)
